04 Oct Ashleigh & Davis: A Romantic Garden Wedding
Ashleigh & Davis tied the knot with an intimate, romantic wedding at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. Month-of planning by our Dream Team brought the sweet evening together and a custom menu left bellies full and hearts happy.
These two met seven years ago through mutual friends and have been best friends ever since. On New Year’s Day, Ashleigh and Davis went on a stroll through Percy Warner Park when Davis popped the question. “We both love nature and outdoor walks,” Ashleigh said. “Our dog Pearl was with us and you could hear the creek trickling in the background. In that moment of serenity, I turned to Davis and he was on his knee.”
Despite originally planning to elope in Scotland, they ultimately chose to get married at Cheekwood because of its breathtaking beauty and the regency architecture of the mansion. Plus, it’s one of their favorite spots in Nashville.
The afternoon began with a first look by the reflecting pool— the couple’s most memorable moment of the day. “It was a drizzly and dreamy moment,” Ashleigh told us.
After photos with family and friends, they made their way to the Wisteria Arbor for the ceremony. Situated on the west wing of the mansion, the arbor overlooks the rolling hills of Percy Warner Park. It’s a breathtaking spot for an intimate ceremony or reception.
Following the ceremony, guests snacked on light bites, including charred beef crostini, seared scallops, bloody mary shrimp skewers, pink pear crostini, balsamic and blueberry bites, and lamb lollipops. Meanwhile, Ashleigh and Davis took a private moment for themselves to soak in the day, later rejoining cocktail hour for their first dance. Since the pandemic didn’t allow for travel and they couldn’t elope to Scotland, Golden Harps of Nashville incorporated a little bit of Scotland by arranging a Celtic tune on the harp and violin.
Dinner was held in the historic Loggia with floor-to-ceiling windows. Tables were set with romantic arrangements by One Wildflower Designs, table numbers and place cards by White Ink Calligraphy, and gold-rimmed china from Please Be Seated Rentals. Dinner consisted of candied pear salads and the guest’s choice of citrus glazed salmon or ancho Denver tender Oscar with sea salted roasted fingerling potatoes and roasted petite green beans.
For dessert, guests indulged in our Tennessee tea cake shooters and chocolate mousse, as well as a stunning three-tiered cake by Baked in Nashville.
