11 Sep Cam & Will: A Modern Southern Cheekwood Wedding
Cam and Will celebrated their love with a traditional ceremony at the Scarritt Bennett Center, followed by a reception at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens that was designed with the perfect combination of modern and Southern style.
These two dapper grooms were dressed in classic tuxedo pants and bowties with custom linen jackets, one in ivory and the other white. Their groomsmaids wore different style dresses in a dusty blue, while the groomsmen wore classic black tuxes.
For their ceremony, both Cam and Will were walked down the aisle by their mothers at Nashville’s iconic Scarritt Bennett Center. A venue that doesn’t require much decorating, the couple chose to frame the altar with classic white floral arrangements that matched the florals doting the aisle.
Guests were then taken to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, thanks to Gray Line of Tennessee, where they enjoyed a cocktail hour under the Wisteria Arbor with delicious appetizers prepared by the Dream Team. The grooms chose several small bites, including mini BLT bites, mini chicken and waffle bites, stuffed Peppadew peppers, creamy cucumber medallions, and ricotta sage meatballs. Couldn’t have chosen a better array of dishes ourselves!
Once the reception began, guests were seated to a preset Caprese salad and artisan rolls with herbed butter to enjoy while Cam and Will were introduced into the reception and each shared a first dance with their mothers.
And then dinner was served! Each place setting featured a custom menu card so guests knew exactly what was coming. They had their choice of lemon rosemary chicken, porcini teres major beef, or a cauliflower steak, each served alongside white cheddar whipped potatoes and sage and brown butter carrots.
The Southern reception was decorated with most beautiful blue runners on neutral linens with matching blue napkins and stunning greenery-filled floral arrangements with bright orange, yellow, and pastel pink flowers. Acrylic ghost chairs and elevated gold flower stands amplified the modern feel.
As the night went on, guests celebrated the newlyweds with dancing, Cam & Will cut their sweet two-tier cake, and a late night snack of Jet’s Pizza was served! With ranch, of course.
We are so glad we got to be a part of such a special day and help these two celebrate their nuptials! Keep scrolling to see all the details.
